MIDI note data, control data for musical instruments
MID files are music files and, in contrast to other audio formats like .MP3 or .WAV, do not contain direct music but instructions on how to "create" the music. In principle, these files contain "notes for the computer". While a .mp3 file always sounds the same, for a MIDI file it is a matter of interpretation – quite similar to a song sung by different singers or played by different bands. But also in the karaoke area .mid files find their use: in addition to the notes (of course without vocals), these files often also contain the lyrics, the lyrics of the song.
