All about OTS files
OpenDocument spreadsheet template
OTS stands for OpenDocument Spreadsheet Template and is the template format for spreadsheets in the OpenDocument standard. OTS files are typically created and edited using LibreOffice Calc or, previously, Apache OpenOffice Calc to create reusable spreadsheet templates (for example, for invoices, budget planners, timesheets, or calendars with predefined layouts).
When opening an OTS file, Calc automatically creates a new, unnamed file, and the template remains untouched.
Technically, OTS, like all other current OpenDocument formats (ODF), is a ZIP archive containing various XML files (for cell contents, formatting, formulas, and metadata) and embedded objects. Many OTS files are also created accidentally when saving, if "OTS" (ODF Spreadsheet Template) is selected instead of ODS (ODF Spreadsheet).
