All about FODP files
alternative format for LibreOffice Draw as a single XML file
FODP is the flat XML equivalent of the ODP presentation format. Instead of packaging the slides, graphics, and metadata into a compressed ZIP archive, FODP writes everything to a single XML file. Technically, it contains exactly the same information as an ODP file, just without the archive structure.
The format can be read and edited using LibreOffice Impress. PowerPoint, Keynote, and other presentation programs do not recognize FODP.
In theory, it would be possible to use FODP files under version control. However, since presentations often consist primarily of graphics, images, and animations, this use case—with embedded images—is not commonly used.
So if you come across an FODP file, it was most likely saved in this format by mistake. But that’s no problem—converting to ODP or PPTX is quick and easy using LibreOffice or file-converter-online.com.
